Funday Sunday at the 2007 Essex Ford Southend Cricket Festival

Essex FM’s Martin & Su at Garon Park

Essex FM

Essex FM’s Roadshow featuring Breakfast Show Presenters Martin and Su will be coming to Garon Park between 12.30 and 1.30pm on 12th August with bands, dancers and lots of prizes to be given away. Martin & Su’s Essex Kids charity is teaming up with Essex & Southend Sports Trust (EASST) to give away 50 Family Saver tickets (normally £29 each) in advance of the big day as part of a major promotion by Essex FM of the 2007 cricket festival.

But this is just part of an action-packed day out for kids which starts with a free kids’ soccer school followed by free entrance to the cricket organised by Southend United Community & Educational Trust. Contact Steve Goodsell or Frankie Banks on 01702 341351 for details. Then at noon the final of the Adventure Island Under-11s Kwik Cricket Tournament will be played on the Garon Park outfield. Then comes the Essex FM Roadshow and the NatWest Pro40 game between Essex Eagles and Warwickshire Bears, starting at 1.45pm. There will also be a Kiddies’ Playground and face-painting.

Essex Ford will again be displaying the latest new cars from Ford, the daily beer festival will feature 25 to 30 different beers across the week with around 12 available on any one day and there will be a range of international foods to choose from. There will also be a charity collection in aid of Martin & Su’s Essex Kids Charity and EASST’s public appeal to fund the Centre of Cricketing Excellence at Garon Park.

“Funday Sunday is much more than just a day at cricket,” says Festival Chairman Peter Butler. “We are planning a family day out for everyone to enjoy.”

There are discounted prices for buying tickets early for the Festival. For more information click www.southendcricketfestival.org.uk or visit the Cliffs Pavilion box office (tel: 01702 351135) or book on-line at www.thecliffspavilion.co.uk
